Residential Treatment Program
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) will be used in conjunction with traditional mental health therapy and chemical dependency treatment. DBT will be provided on an intermittent basis depending upon the needs of the clientele. DBT is a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and Eastern mindfulness that assists clients in developing healthy coping skills and learning how to live a sober lifestyle.
Clients may learn the following DBT Skills:
Mindfulness
Distress Tolerance
Emotional Regulation
Interpersonal Effectiveness
DBT focuses on assisting clients with staying focused in the here-and-now, learning relaxation techniques, developing self-soothing strategies, using appropriate assertiveness skills, maintaining self-respect and respect for others, maintaining a non-judgmental stance and practicing the concept of acceptance.
